    Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a non invasive ultrasound technology utilized to measure the hemodynamic blood flow conditions in the major arteries at the base of the brain. It can measure intracranial blood flow velocities quickly and efficiently and provides information regarding velocity and direction of cerebral blood flow. TCD has a wide application in neurology, neurosurgery, cardio and vascular surgery, anesthisiology and it can also be used in intensive care and stroke units.

    Long-term ambulatory monitoring is very important and helpful in clinical but quite difficult to realize due to some insuperable disadvantages of conventional headframes. They are difficult to fix, uncomfortable to wear, and the Doppler signals are usually easily getting lost and are not completely ideal for evaluation. Our partner, Professor Rune Aaslid has been absorbed in the research of TCD monitoring practice since 1987. Finally he successfully developed Robotic Probe System which provides a candidate for solving the general problems in the practice of ambulatory monitoring. The Robotic Probe is easy to fix and the headframe is comfortable to wear. The system can intelligently obtain and keep tracking optimal vessel signals for hours. Doctors can keep a close watch on the arteries dynamics during cardiac and vascular surgeries. With the application of EMS-9UA with Robotic Probe Systems, more patients can be free from intraoperative and postoperative injuries. It will surely play an important role in clinical cardiology.
